It's all DONE - just about

The conveyancing is complete! There was a bit of a crazy scramble to get it all done on time but the local council did it and then read me the information we needed to proceed with the sale, over the phone. A filled out and faxed about a billion forms off to them and quite frankly he deserves a medal because the language on the forms surely wasn't any form of English that I'm familiar with. Legal jargon is rather pretentious to say the least.

Since I last posted we have transferred the remaining money that was owing on the house, sent off the transfer forms, and been in constant contact with our very helpful real estate agent. All whilst dealing with A's very painful slipped disk, and me at nearly 42w pregnant with a ghastly bout of the flu! Personally I think we all deserve a well earned break, and failing that a big fat medal.

The lawyer representing the vendor has also been very helpful to us, which she didn't have to do, but she felt sorry for us with the ridiculous set of events. I can't believe we managed to get it done though, the only things left are applying for the first home owners grant, getting the title switched over, and having a baby! Oh, plus there's a few other little things but the worst is done. The stress of the conveyancing was pretty oppressive because we weren't sure if we were doing it right! I actually spent two nights not sleeping coz I was so worried about it. Hopefully now that's done and when we're all feeling better physically the baby will come ... and not a moment sooner.

  1. Ugh I can't imagine all that you have done and gone through in the circumstances.
I had a hard enough time selling, moving, buying in the same state, and being close by!

Sounds like baby may have been waiting for everything to be organised :)
Hope you are aable to rest, and A's back starts healing real soon.

  2. Wow, you really have gone through a lot. I wouldn't have been able to go through what you did if that was me (assuming I was a woman). In most cases I worked on I simply work with a conveyancing Adelaide service to ease the burden.
